During the 2015 annual meeting of the Canadian Philosophical Association (CPA), Frédéric Bouchard, then-president of the CPA, opened the inaugural session of a series of symposia co-organized with the Canadian Journal of Philosophy (CJP), called “Philosophy in Canada”. The inaugural symposium was on the topic of philosophy of biology in Canada.
As part of this symposium, Frédéric Bouchard gave a joint conference with Gordon McOuat (University of King’s College) on the development and hybrid character of philosophy of biology in Canada with an overview of its French and Anglo-Saxon roots.
