Newly elected President of ACFAS

On December 10 2015, Frédéric Bouchard, Deputy Vice-Rector for Research, Creation, Discovery and Innovation and professor of philosophy at Université de Montréal, was elected as President of Association francophone pour le savoir (ACFAS) for two years.

Created in 1923, ACFAS is a Québec-based non-governmental organization which aims to “promote research and innovation, along with scientific culture, in French-speaking countries by contributing to the diffusion and promotion of knowledge and scientific approach in order to improve the quality of life in society”. As newly elected president, Frédéric Bouchard will pursue the application of ACFAS’ 2014-2019 strategic plan, with a focus on the two following parts:  “rapprochement science-société” and “formation de la relève en recherche.”
